High quality Celtic Triskel Medal, for a gift or a souvenir of Brittany.
More than 2000 years ago, Europe was dominated by the Celts, a group of peoples sharing the same linguistic, artistic and cultural traditions. Originating from Central Europe, talentuous metalworkers, the Celts left in their migrations a lot of superbly made objects, implements, weapons and jewels in gold, silver and bronze. The surfaces are decorated with curves and spirals, animal and vegetal representations are common.
One of the recurring themes of the celtic art is the triad, a representation with triple patterns. The triskel (or triskell) with three spirals (from the greek "triskeles" which means "with three legs") is the celtic symbol par excellence, and the meanings that are given to it are multiple.
